Headteacher's Update - January
Dear Parents/Carers,
Happy New Year to you all and I hope you and your families managed to have an enjoyable and safe holiday period.
We are all very much looking forward to welcoming our pupils back from tomorrow onwards for years 8-11 and Year 7s on Friday. The onsite lateral flow testing has been going very smoothly so far and in keeping with our aim to ensure a safe return for all, but also one which minimises disruption to teaching and learning. After the Year 7s have tested on Friday morning, we will have all pupils in all year groups fully up and running in normal lessons again.
In a separate parentmail, we forwarded a link to key updates from Herefordshire Council which I would encourage you to read as it covers all aspects of a safe return to school including the wearing of face coverings and school travel requirements.
Please be advised that we are following all of the guidance and recommendations in order to keep our pupils safe and to ensure that we can keep as many of them in school learning as possible.
Despite the uncertainty that will inevitably be caused by the pandemic, I am looking forward to what we can achieve together in 2022. My senior team and I are going to be using the Spring term to monitor the impact of various Teaching and Learning developments on pupils’ progress across the school.
With your ongoing support and cooperation, we will continue to navigate the challenges that we are all facing and help all of our pupils to have a happy and successful year ahead.
Yours faithfully
Stuart Wetson
