Year 11 GCSE Results
In a year of complete uncertainty, pupils at St Mary’s RC High School are celebrating a set of excellent GCSE results. Headteacher Stuart Wetson highlighted how well the year group had done despite such unprecedented circumstances; “We are all so proud of our Year 11 pupils and it is great that they have been awarded the grades they so richly deserve. They were working very hard in preparation for their exams and I am just so glad that this has been reflected in their grades.” Mr Wetson also acknowledged the hard work and efforts of his staff, ‘The teachers at St Mary’s undertook an incredibly rigorous process to ensure that our pupils were credited with accurate grades and are well set up for their next steps’. Amongst the school’s successes were Head Girl Libby Sutcliffe and Anwen Gluyas who both scored exclusively Grade 9s across all of their subjects.
