Some delicious dishes in the St Mary’s recipe book………..

Hot Potato Tasks help you to become independent learners, curious about how ingredients work together.

In Year 7 Students learn the basic skills of weighing, cutting, mixing, cooking, testing, cooking, cooling and storing food safely through a range of imaginative dishes.
Food Hygiene and Safety in the Kitchen are also taught through practice and theory. As part of our rotation students consider the ethics of food preparation and shopping for ingredients; the effect on our brothers and sisters across the world and on our planet.
Special diets and allergies are incorporated into the programme of recipes cooked each week.
The focus of lessons is practical; three lessons a week lead up to the student’s practical lesson and include demonstrations, testing and experimenting.
